Self-hosted alternative to literally every SaaS you use (github.com)

Finally. I now self-host email, calendar, photos, notes, my own CA, DNS, a Git forge, a Mastodon instance with 0 followers, and a status page that monitors all of it. The status page is the only thing anyone visits. It's down right now. I'll fix it after I finish this comment. I will not finish this comment.

self-hosting email in 2026 is wild, deliverability alone

My emails go straight to everyone's spam folder, yes, but that's a Big Email conspiracy to punish the sovereign, not a config issue. I've appealed to Gmail by emailing them. It went to spam.

Correct. Total privacy. Not a single byte read by a third party, or a first party, or me. This is the most secure email setup possible. It is functionally /dev/null and I have never felt safer.

Depends if my landlord ran the dishwasher (shared circuit). Call it three nines if you count from when the breaker is on. So, nine. Three of those nines are aspirational.

you've replaced $40/mo of subscriptions with 30 hours/week of unpaid sysadmin labor, congrats on the savings

My time isn't worth anything because I have nothing to do with it, so the math is actually infinite ROI. Checkmate.
